Creating Modules in a Path
What Is a Module?
A Module is a collection of content that can be reused across your Onboarding Paths and Skill Paths. An example could be "Company Policies", which would need to be in every new hire's Onboarding Path, regardless of what team they are in. Creating a Module within a path results in that Module being saved in a separate library. This library can be accessed from the sidepanel, under the "Upskill" section.
These Modules can also be directly linked into different paths - this ensures that any changes made in the original module reflect across all paths the module is in, thereby reducing effort to update paths.
Creating a Module
In the Path Editor, click "Create Module".
Similar to tasks, you can perform certain actions by hovering over the module:
Set estimated time
Mark as optional
Delete
Click on the module to start editing its content.
Provide the title name and an optional overview.
Unlike tasks, collaborators added to the path are not automatically added to the module. You can click on your name in the Module Editor, or click on Settings to add a collaborator.
You can also perform other actions in the Settings:
Add learning objectives (what this module aims to teach) - these will be visible to users who preview the module.
(Advanced) Add a code execution file or a docker container, if needed
Within modules, you can:
Add categories - think of these as subfolders you can use to logically group content together. These work much the same was as Weeks.
Note that deleting categories deletes all content within them.
Add a lesson - these lessons behave exactly the same way as tasks. You can add the same content as you would for tasks, such as instructions to perform an action, or you can add reading material as you would in a lesson.
