Hyperledger Burrow

Hyperledger Greenhouse is an open-source consortium for developing business blockchain technologies that is hosted by the Linux Foundation. Within the greenhouse, diverse global communities collaboratively develop open-source projects that uniquely approach enterprise blockchain challenges. These technologies can cross-pollinate and inter-operate in the same way that the communities driving the projects collaborate in an open and neutral environment.

Hyperledger Burrow

Hyperledger Burrow is a modular blockchain framework from the Hyperledger Greenhouse. It has a permissionedAn additional blockchain security system smart-contract interpreter developed partly to meet the requirements of the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart-contracts provide a basic operation and computational power within blockchain networks. They are written into lines of code and distributed across blocks of networks. They can be configured to manage processes, exchange values, or to perform calculations without an intermediary.

With its fast, lightweight design that is focused on smart-contracts, combined with the Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm with transaction finality, Burrow is highly suitable to share processes across organizations.

Burrow is mainly used as a library for smart-contracts based on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. If a SolidityObject-oriented, high-level language for implementing smart-contracts contract is written for the public Ethereum network, Burrow can help migrate that contract over to Hyperledger. Therefore, it can be said that Burrow enables other Hyperledger projects to incorporate the Ethereum Virtual Machine into their platforms.
