Nouman Abbasi

Epic and story are common terms used in agile software development. In this shot, we will look at their difference.

Epic

An epic is a chunk of work that has a common objective. It is used to segment a large body of work into smaller tasks called stories. For example, if you are building a website, an epic could be user authentication or user profile.

Stories

Stories (or user stories) are the specific tasks within an epic. They are the smallest units of user functionality that can be delivered in one agile sprintA set period of time during which specific work has to be completed.. For example, a user story may be small tasks like “user login” or “update profile picture.”
