Definition: Mode

The mode of a dataset is the value that occurs most frequently. Modes can be found for both numeric and nominal data.

A dataset can have more than one mode. A dataset with two modes is bi-modal, and a dataset that has more than two modes is multi-modal.

Finding the mode

Count how many times each element in the dataset appears. The one that appears the most is the mode.
