The compare
method is a static method of the Float
class that is used to compare two float
values.
public static int compare(float x, float y);
The function takes in two float
values as a parameter.
This method returns:
0
if both the values are the same.
A value less than zero if x
is less than y
.
A value greater than zero if the x
is greater than y
.

The example below uses the Float.compare
method:
