This course will begin our journey into Application Programming Interface(API) Development with Laravel.  In this course, we will be going over topics like:
- Concept of Application Programming Interface (API)  and its benefits, 
- Representational State Transfer (REST) Architecture and its constraints, 
- JSON Web Token (JWT) for authentication, 
- best practices for designing a RESTful API, and much more.

We will be putting this knowledge into practical use by building a Question & Answer Restful API Application.

Application Features

- Users can signup and sign in.
- Users can reset their passwords.
- Authenticated users can post a question.
- Authenticated users can answer a question.
- The question owner can delete his question.
- Answer owner can delete his answer.

This course requires an understanding of PHP and a basic understanding of the Laravel framework. 

By the end of this course, we will be able to begin our journey in creating RESTful APIs in Laravel.

Building a Question & Answer RESTful API Application

## Postman API request

Let's make our first API Request by clicking the "New" button.

On the pop-up screen, select the "HTTP Request" option.

1. HTTP Method – A dropdown list of the different HTTP Methods.
2. Request URL – The API request URL.
3. Request tab – Set a title for the request.  Thie title is "Untitled Request" by default.
4. Params – Set query parameters in key-value pairs.
5. Authorization – Provide the proper authorization parameters required to access the API resource.
6. Headers – Set request headers.
7. Body – The body data sent to the API endpoint, commonly used in POST and PUT requests.
8. Pre-request Script – Execute scripts before a request to the API endpoint.
9. Tests – These are scripts executed during the request to verify the response.
10. Save – Save a request or change to a request to use it in the future.
11. Send – Send the request to the API endpoint.

Let's make our first request using the Postman application.
