In this module, you will learn how to build a REST API using a lighter web framework for Python, i.e., FastAPI. You will learn the basics of FastAPI and learn how to implement parallel processing in Python APIs. 

Finally, you will deploy your API on Microsoft Azure and build a Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) Pipeline using Github.

Building REST API with Python

## Who is this module for?

This module teaches us to build web APIs and helps us to build our own applications. This module is not ideal for beginners. To take this module, we should have a basic understanding of the following:

+ Python
+ Logging
+ Programming concepts

> Knowledge of any patron frameworks, like Flask, would be a plus!

## Module structure

This module contains _six_ chapters:

1. __Building Blocks of an API in Python__

   This chapter introduces REST APIs and explains their importance. We will learn CRUD operations and the structure of a request in detail.
  
2. __Learn the Basics of FAST API__

   This chapter explains the use of FastAPI and how to create an application with it.

3. __Optical Character Recognition API Using Tesseract - Project 1__

   This chapter explains how to set up a project, OCR, with the help of FastAPI.

4. __Cloud and Microsoft Azure Services__

    This chapter introduces cloud computing, and its different deployment models and services.

5. __Text Analytics API Using Azure Cognitive Service - Project 2__

   This chapter provides information on the Text Analytics Cognitive API from Microsoft Azure.

6. __Deploy the REST API on Microsoft Azure__ 

   This chapter explains how to deploy the REST API on Microsoft Azure.
