Mastering Blockchain Development

In this module, we’ll learn the fundamentals of blockchain concepts, from its basics to deploying blockchain networks. We will start with basic cryptography constructs, like hash functions and PKI encryption. We’ll also build a solid base for understanding blockchain and appreciate its value. Then, we will explore the Hyperledger Fabric technology by IBM using hands-on development environment within our browser. This module is a great starting point for engineers looking to develop expertise in blockchain technology with Hyperledger Fabric specialty. In this module, we’ll deploy our own blockchain network and deploy chaincode on it. We’ll also create an application that invokes our chaincode running in the fabric network. We’ll also learn how to manage fabric user identities in our application using wallets.

Here is the list of high-level steps being carried out when a transaction needs to be applied to the ledger.

1. Client App prepares the transaction signed by the user.
2. Client App connects to endorsing peers(as per endorsement policy) to collected signed endorsements on the transaction output. The peers simulate the transaction and return a signed endorsement.
3. Client App submits the endorsed  transaction to ordering service, which puts it into a valid block and distributes to all peers.
