In many cases, "Node" and a physical computer has a 1:1 relationship. However, that's not always true, e.g., nowadays, 

* A single computer might have multiple processors
* A single processor might have numerous cores

In such cases, sometimes, there could be multiple processes running on the same computer representing different "logical nodes." 

Logical nodes are also called __Virtual Nodes__ (or VNode).
