Complete the Capability Assessment Brief

Each lesson in this chapter contributed a section to the same document. A capability assessment brief is the artifact reviewers use to decide whether the copilot should proceed to qualification without committing to a specific vendor or model. Define acceptance criteria in measurable terms. Reviewers should be able to identify what the system must and must not do, the binding constraints, the minimum capability primitives needed to satisfy those constraints, which more complex capability options are excluded and why, and the remaining evidence needed to reduce uncertainty.
Keep the brief lightweight and reviewable, typically two to four pages, reading like an architecture review document, not a product pitch. This chapter’s output is a defensible statement of scope, constraints, and evidence. It is not a recommendation for a model family, a benchmark score, or an implementation plan.
