Object-oriented programming (OOP) has been around for decades. If you have a basic understanding of C++ and are interested in leveling up your skills, this class will help you do just that.

As we've learned in the [Function section](https://www.educative.io/courses/learn-object-oriented-programming-in-cpp/arguments-and-function-scope), function arguments are usually local in scope. Once we return from the function, all its variables are deleted forever. 

One solution was to pass external variables by reference using the `&` operator. This would alter the values of the variables outside the function scope.
