So far, we have discussed entity-relationship diagram (ERD) modeling and normalization, which helped us design a structured and efficient database. Now, we want to move toward relational databases by mapping the ERD to a relational schema that can be implemented using SQL.
Transition from ERD to relational schema
The ERD visually represents the database, showing entities, attributes, and relationships. However, to create a working database, we must convert this design into relational tables with primary and foreign keys and constraints.
