Resource Allowance System (RAS)

In response to the drawbacks of the current resource allocation systems, a new system has been proposed that is known as Resource Allowance System (RAS).

The RAS is responsible for solving the following problems in resource allocation.

  1. It provides guaranteed capacity during diverse capacity requests, heterogeneous hardware resources, and other such planned and unplanned events.

  2. It isolates container placement from capacity allocation in order to enable region-wide optimizations for capacity allocation.

  3. It dynamically assigns servers to a cluster which divides the workload equally among servers.

  4. In the case of RAS, the datacenter-scale failure is tackled dynamically.
