SQL Queries via the Command Terminal

Let's see how to run SQL queries from the built-in terminal.

The terminal windows

An interesting capability of Azure Data Studio is the integration of a standard SQL editor with other language options. These language options are available using Notebooks, which will be introduced in the Getting Things Done with Notebooks chapter, and as well as by the integrated terminal window, which we will discuss next.

To open the terminal window, press Ctrl+` (backtick). Otherwise, use the Menu Bar, by selecting “View, Terminal”. Once opened, you will see the terminal pane on the bottom right section of the ADS application, as shown below:
