Creating Questions-Question Editor

Learn about the different types of questions supported in the assessment tools

To create a question, click on the “Add Question” button. It is present on the left side of the assessment editor page. An untitled question will be created. Add its title in the given field. Next, click the question. You will be taken to the question editor:

Question Type

Select the type of question. There are 11 options:

  • MCQ
  • True False
  • Match The Answers
  • Free Text
  • Code Widget
  • Linked List
  • Binary Tree
  • Stack
  • Live SPA
  • Terminal
  • Permutation

Question Difficulty

Set the difficulty level of the question. There are three levels:

  • Easy
  • Medium
  • Hard

Skills

Select which skills are covered by this question. Multiple skills can be selected for a single question. The entire list of skills covered by the course has to be specified on the collection editor page:

Skills must be selected from a predefined drop-down menu and cannot be created by authors in the collection editor. To request a new skill, please reach out to us at authors@educative.io!

Relevant Lessons

This field allows you to add lessons that cover the concept being tested in a particular question.

If a learner fails to answer the question correctly, they will be referred to the relevant lessons you have listed. This lets the learner revisit those lessons before attempting the question again. If the answer is correct, the relevant lessons will not be shown.

Here, you write the question statement against which the learner will decide an answer.
