Exercise: Overlays

Check your understanding of overlay operations.

In this exercise, use the list of stations used to measure the ozone cover and ultraviolet radiation on the Earth’s surface. This stations list is provided by the the World Ozone and Ultraviolet Radiation Data Centre, from the Government of Canada, and is available in the code playground with the name ozone_stations.csv.

The aim is to calculate the unmonitored area of Brazil in terms of ozone coverage, given that each station can monitor a circular area with a radius of 500 km. To simplify your calculations, you can approximate that one decimal degree is equivalent to 100 km. Additionally, plot a map of the uncovered area. This can be achieved by using the difference overlay operation. Write your code after the comment.
