Analyzing Text and NLP with Textract and Comprehend

With the advent of AI, data has become the new oil of the world. Every business, no matter how big or small, produces large amounts of data every day, and this data contains insights that may help organizations in making decisions. Unstructured data, such as customer reviews, comments on social media, and email feedback, can be difficult to manually analyze. This is where Amazon Comprehend and Textract come in, giving us the ability to quickly and effectively extract insights from unstructured data.

This Cloud Lab aims to teach you how to use these tools. You’ll start using Amazon Textract as a stand-alone service to extract document data. You’ll then learn to use the document analysis features of Amazon Textract to analyze the same document. For that, you’ll create an S3 bucket, upload the document in that bucket and then perform the analysis on that document. After that, you’ll use Amazon Comprehend to process the textual data extracted by Amazon Textract in the beginning. You’ll also learn how to use Amazon Comprehend in combination with the S3 service to use the analysis job feature of Amazon Comprehend.

By the end of this lab, you’ll be able to extract and analyze document data using Amazon Textract, as well as process textual data using Amazon Comprehend. You’ll also have learned how to integrate these tools with S3. After this lab, you’ll be able to use these services according to your own needs in your websites and applications.
