Timeline

7/5: Get introduced to the workshop, learn the basics of technical writing, and practice what you've learned. A mini-course on technical writing and topics for you to write on during the workshop will be sent out at this time.

7/6: Deep dive into Educative widgets and how to use Docker to make external environments run on Educative.

7/7: First day to start writing -- all topics should be chosen at this time.

7/11: First submission due by midnight BST.

7/19: All reviews sent back to participants.

7/20: Meet-up where participants can ask questions and get help on reviews.

7/24: Second submission due by midnight BST.

7/28: All reviews sent back to participants.

8/1: Meetup to learn about accessible technical writing practices.

8/3: Final submission due by midnight BST.

8/10: All Answers published.

8/18: Winners are announced. [1st place = 1 year gift subscription, 2nd place = 9 month gift subscription, 3rd place = 6 month gift subscription]

Is the workshop in person?

The Educative Technical Writing Workshop is a remote workshop that is structured and guided by Educative. Although you will write your article on a schedule, it will be up to you to stay on top of the schedule and submit on time.

How are workshop winners chosen?

At the end of the workshop, we encourage you to share your article with your professional and social circles. After 1 week, each article’s views will be tallied and the three articles that received the most views will be chosen as winners. The authors of these articles will receive up to a 1-year gift subscription to Educative Unlimited.
