SKILL PATH
AI Skills Learning Path for Software Engineers
This Skill Path is designed to take software engineers from using AI tools to building production-grade AI systems. You’ll begin with understanding how LLMs work, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows with tool integration through MCP, then progress into building AI agents, implementing RAG systems, orchestrating multi-agent workflows, and designing evaluation-driven production systems. By the end, you’ll be able to architect, build, and ship real-world AI applications end-to-end with confidence.

Learning Objectives
Explain how large language models work, from tokenization and context windows to inference and model selection, and make confident engineering decisions based on that understanding.
Write, evaluate, and systematically improve prompts using chain-of-thought, few-shot examples, and automated evaluation harnesses.
Apply agentic coding workflows, plan-then-implement, context management, custom slash commands, and code review practices, to ship AI-assisted code faster and with fewer surprises.
Extend AI agents with tool use and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect them to real-world databases, APIs, and internal systems.
Architect and implement production-grade AI agents with proper observe-think-act loops, state management, streaming output, and error recovery.
Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases, hybrid retrieval, and conversation memory, that give agents access to real, domain-specific knowledge.
Design and implement multi-agent systems using sequential, parallel, and routing patterns to solve tasks that exceed single-agent capacity or budget.
Ship AI systems to production with evaluation frameworks, structured observability, input/output guardrails, feedback loops, and cost management strategies that keep systems reliable and scalable.

Your method is simple, straight to the point and I can practice with it everywhere, even from my phone, that's something I have never had in other learning platforms.

I highly recommend Educative. The courses are well organized and easy to understand.

I prefer Educative courses because they have a nice mix of text & images. I find that with full video courses, it can often be too easy to go into passive learning mode.
