Mason McGough

Machine Learning and Computer Vision engineer on the threshold between the physical and digital worlds.

ABOUT ME

I am captivated by all things visual. Currently a Sr. Computer Vision Scientist at soona, I create Computer Vision tools that spark life into digital images. Before that I was a Sr. R&D Engineer at Lowe's Innovation Labs, where I developed Machine Learning applications for the 3D content pipeline that powers the View In Your Space feature of the Lowe's iOS and Android apps. I contributed to the Digital Twin initiative at Lowe's, creating Computer Vision inference engines to supply data to interactive 3D replicas of real stores and distribution centers. Some of that work was featured during Jensen Huang's keynote speech for the NVIDIA GTC conference of Fall 2022. In my spare time, I write articles for Towards Data Science on Medium, dabble in photography, 3D scanning, and 3D modeling, and practice creative writing, tai chi, and minor home remodeling.
