Ted Neward

I am an industry professional of thirty years' experience--an author, speaker, manager, philosopher, and technologist. Cut my teeth on an Apple ][+ in 1978, wrote code professionally in C++/Windows in 1995, haven't looked back.

ABOUT ME

I've spoken at conferences all over the world, I've conducted training classes at companies across numerous domains (always fun teaching .NET to Microsoft employees), and I've written dozens of books alongside hundreds of articles, but the one thing that remains consistent across those thirty years is the desire to "make geeks into bigger geeks". I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to build some amazing teams (at iTrellis, Smartsheet, and Rocket Mortgage), and many of the people on those teams are still people I connect with to this day--almost a decade later. I call myself a "computational philosopher" because much of what philosophy entails--asking questions that may not have clear answers but help create clarity in their asking--is invaluable and useful in the world of both writing code and leading teams that write code. I'm always interested in learning more, both about technology and management, and I enjoy seeing the world through new eyes (and learning from what that shows me) as I teach.
