The Anthropic Console: Playground
Explore how the Anthropic Console Playground supports fast, iterative prompt testing and model comparison. Learn to draft requests, run real examples, evaluate tool usage, and export tested prompts as code snippets. This lesson helps you understand how to efficiently build and refine Claude API requests before integrating them into production code.
Most of the effort in a Claude integration goes into the request itself. The system prompt, the tool descriptions, and the choice of model decide how a system behaves, and each one takes several rounds of testing against real examples before it holds up. Doing every round in code means editing a file and rerunning a script, again and again.
Developers usually want a faster loop for that early work, a place to type a prompt, run it, read the answer, and adjust it within seconds. Anthropic provides that place inside the Claude Console, through a tool called the Playground.
