The Final Panel
Explore how to approach the Anthropic Forward Deployed Engineer final panel by designing scalable Claude systems under time constraints. Understand how to clarify requirements, build layered architectures with security and orchestration, design evaluation metrics, and confidently defend your choices during live interviews.
The final panel asks us to design a Claude deployment for an enterprise customer, live, while interviewers watch and push back. It often sits within a longer virtual onsite alongside other rounds, and many candidates describe it as the round that weighs most heavily on the final decision. Earlier rounds ask about work we have done. This one asks us to do the work in front of the panel.
The design prompt is usually broad on purpose, and the time is short. A strong session clarifies the problem before drawing anything, makes choices that fit the customer’s constraints, and shows how the system would be measured and kept safe in production. A design that looks impressive but cannot answer how we would know it works rarely holds up.
Knowing what the panel is listening for shapes how we use that time.
What the panel assesses
The panel looks at six abilities across one design.
Enterprise architecture: A structure that fits the customer’s systems, scale, and constraints, with clear boundaries between components.
Security and trust: How data stays protected, how access is controlled, and how the system resists misuse such as prompt injection.
Orchestration judgment: When a single Claude call, a workflow, or a set of coordinated ...
