About this course
WHY I WROTE THIS COURSE
Data science interviews assess more than technical knowledge. Candidates must also identify errors that can make results appear valid, such as joins that duplicate revenue, statistically significant results affected by repeated testing without adjustment, or aggregate model metrics that conceal important failure patterns. This course focuses on recognizing these errors, validating results, and explaining conclusions that the available evidence supports. I developed this course using insights from my PhD research in Computer Science at Wayne State University, where I studied neural networks, adaptive AI, and intelligent tutoring systems. In research, reliable conclusions depend on clearly stated assumptions, validated results, and an understanding of how changes to those assumptions affect the interpretation. These principles also apply to data science interviews, where candidates must explain their reasoning and evaluate the validity of their conclusions. As VP of Technical Content at Educative, I’ve observed that candidates can produce technically correct calculations while overlooking essential steps: clarifying the question, validating the result, and explaining its limitations. Each lesson follows a structured interview-style format. It presents a representative interview question, a common incorrect or incomplete response, an improved answer with an explanation, and follow-up questions that test the underlying reasoning. The course covers common data science interview topics, including SQL, statistics and probability, A/B testing and causal inference, applied machine learning, Python and pandas, and product sense. Practice sets reinforce these skills through output-prediction exercises, debugging tasks, and corrections to incomplete or incorrect solutions. Each exercise includes a worked solution. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to clarify problem requirements, validate assumptions, and verify calculations before interpreting results. You’ll also practice explaining your reasoning, acknowledging limitations, and responding to follow-up questions that introduce new assumptions or constraints.

These are high-quality courses. Trust me the price is worth it for the content quality. Educative came at the right time in my career. I'm understanding topics better than with any book or online video tutorial I've done. Truly made for developers. Thanks
