Managing Storage Lifecycle using Amazon S3 Lifecycle Policies

Managing Storage Lifecycle using Amazon S3 Lifecycle Policies

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an object storage service that offers high-performance data storage solutions. Single user to larger enterprises, most of them use Amazon S3 to store their private and public data. Amazon S3 offers an amazing feature of managing data lifecycle so that users can store their data cost-effectively.

In this Cloud Lab, you’ll explore the fundamental features of Amazon S3 lifecycles. you’ll start by setting up an Amazon S3 bucket for data storage and uploading some data in it. Then, you’ll apply the lifecycle policies to manage the lifecycle of the data in the bucket. Next, you'll learn to configure the notifications for the lifecycle events.

After completing the lab, you will have a thorough understanding of lifecycles in Amazon S3 and their role in managing data effectively. You'll also gain the skills to manage the data life cycles and advance your career as a cloud developer.

The following is the high-level architecture diagram of the infrastructure that you’ll create in this Cloud Lab:
